Instagram Scavenger Hunt
What?
Instagram allows users to share photographs and videos with a select group of people or the world. The app allows users to share their work across other social networking sites as well, such as Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter. Built-in editing tools allow users to edit their pictures and videos using filters, text, or stickers. Hashtags allow users to share and view the content of people with similar interests.
So what?
Instagram allows users thirteen and older to take, share, and edit photographs and videos. This app can be used to showcase student work, record the steps and results of a science experiment, create/complete scavenger hunts, and much more! Instagram is an engaging app that will allow students to capture, edit, and share their finding and thinking through picture and video form.
Now what?
Instagram is a fun and engaging way for students to share their thinking and growth. In science, students could create and complete a scavenger hunt identifying examples of mixtures and solutions (portfolio example below). In math, students could document examples and non-examples of acute angles. Students could use Instagram to live stream and model for their peers how to perform an academic skill, such as adding and subtracting decimals. The possibilities are endless!
